Partners in Music

What is Partners in Music?

*This program cannot accept more volunteers*

Our program pairs BYU student volunteers with local middle school and high school band, orchestra, and choir students who want to develop their skills on an instrument but are not taking private lessons. Come be a part of a developing musician's journey through service! We are mentoring through music!

Volunteers only commit about an hour each week. Carpooling is available.

Info meetings take place at the beginning of Fall and Winter Semesters.

Student recitals in December and April (at least two weeks before finals).

How do I get involved?

If you are interested in volunteering in our program, please contact the program directors at partnersinmusic@byu.edu or fill out the form here

This program may require a background check from the community service provider.

Please complete this mandatory 20 minute child protection training before you begin working with the children.

Experiences

Seeing the students at the Spring Recital was and is so gratifying and humbling. When I see these kids who are so happy to show what they've learned, and see their great friendship with their teachers and I know that it is all possible because volunteers chose to take the time to help them learn and grow, it all makes it worth it. I am so grateful that I have had the chance to work with these wonderful kids and volunteers. It has truly made my experience here at BYU meaningful and worthwhile.
