MLK Community Outreach Day
What is MLK Community Outreach Day?
As a one-day event, Community Outreach Day seeks to celebrate King’s legacy of selfless service and provide opportunities to serve God’s children within our community and throughout the world. Taking place on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Community Outreach Day unites both the BYU and local communities in a celebration of giving. The event consists of a free breakfast, a cultural celebration, and the completion of various service projects throughout the area.
How do I get involved?
Students and Community members alike are welcome to participate the day of, January 17, 2022. The event will begin at 8:15 AM by Jamba Juice in BYU’s Wilkinson Student Center. The service will finish by 12:00 PM. We need volunteers to help us organize and plan the event. If you are interested, contact us at mlkcommunityoutreachday@byu.edu.

Experiences
It has been incredible to see the reaction of the charities that we serve. One woman told me that through this day of service, they are able to get more projects done than they could do by themselves. It was amazing to hear that this event really does make an impact.
