Freshman Service Corps
What is Freshman Service Corps?
One of the easiest ways for freshmen to get involved and make friends here at the Y!
You’ll get the chance to work alongside other freshmen to help people of all ages and backgrounds here in Utah Valley. Not sure where you want to get involved or what you want to major in? Twice a month we team up with other Y-serve programs to help you figure out what you enjoy doing so you can have more direction in your studies and your service.
Why should EVERY BYU Freshman join FSC?
- FREE FOOD! If you’re tired of eating ramen or fighting the Cannon Center lines, we’ve got you covered.
- Perfect date activities. Dance parties. Santa Clause. You might even meet Jimmer.
- NO SOPHOMORES, JUNIORS, OR SENIORS! You’ll be surrounded by cool, unmarried students who are also trying to figure out what to do with their lives.
- Freshman year can be tough. It’s easy to get caught up in midterms, minimum-wage jobs, and American Heritage reviews. It’s incredible how much balance and happiness a few hours of service a month can bring to your busy life.

Experiences
Coming to BYU as a freshman was a scary experience. My roommates, classmates, and professors were all new and I felt like I was the only one who didn’t know exactly how to handle college life alone. When I first joined Freshman Service Corps, the events were just a way to find something to do on the weekend. By the end of the semester though, I not only made tons of memories, but also made great friendships! Freshman Service Corps was a place I felt like I belonged on such a huge campus and also provided more meaning to my first year at BYU!
